Description

Scouting around my more well trodden haunts of the LMC i noticed this nebula complex at the opposite end of the LMC to the well known Tarantula Nebula... I believe is called NGC1763 although some refer to the Bean nebula. Has an embedded star cluster.

And a CHALLENGE - how many globular clusters can you spy here ;-)

Two nights here trying out new Antlia Pro filters (3nm) instead of my usual Antlia Ultras (3.5nm).

My CEM70 mount should be home again soon, but I can hardly complain the performance of my little CEM40 here carrying max cap and running these two nights at 0.5arc sec RMS and often better... I hardly ever see guiding that good!

As these were the only two nights of partly fine sky for some weeks I'm posting what I have now as it will be some time before I get more, though think it might benefit from twice the integration time I have here.

Stacked in APP and combined and processed in Startools with final tweaks in PS CC.

Title: revised with a little mroe data and this time stacked in PI

Description: not really sure this is an improvement... I added a couple hours of data and was trying for the umteenth time over years to learn PI...managed to stack into channels in PI, but even the simplest things such as cropping and stretching (yes I know ther is a lot in stretching but would prefer the program to do the heavy lifting) PI seems to make hard... I've used a lot of programs over the years, but never come clsoe to anything so convoluted and unintuitive (yes to me) as PI... I think coming from a photography background there's too much to unlearn and in my mind too much complexity that just isnt needed in PI... till next time... I bought the program so will try again no doubt, but in the meantime will carry on with APP and Startools (which I like, just often feel left out when everyone starts talking all those wierd PI terms).
