Description

I wanted to get an image of this nice reddish gas cloud, Henize 70, N70, in a field close to the Tarantula area. Last night was not good but not so bad either, so I did try. The super bubble has been studied and is quite interesting, one reference is https://arxiv.org/abs/1404.3823.
Of course, if you want an absolutely astonishing image, go for the ESO one: https://www.eso.org/public/images/eso9948d/, where indicate a few interesting details, such as that "...N 70 is a luminous bubble of interstellar gas, measuring about 300 light-years in diameter. It was created by winds from hot, massive stars and supernova explosions and the interior is filled with tenuous, hot expanding gas. An object like N70 provides astronomers with an excellent opportunity to explore the connection between the life-cycles of stars and the evolution of galaxies." I found that is a fascinating object. I wish I had a better sky.
