Description

Its been cloudy for most of the last two months, but luckily I still have data from last year that I haven't processed yet. I only had 24 minutes of data from a good night last year in April, and no chance to collect more on this target since on account of poor weather. The galaxy is pretty bright and the night I capture this had good seeing and transparency, so a lot of detail showed up despite the limited integration time.

The little blue irregular galaxy at the far right is PGC/LEDA 54419. It looks like an analog of our own galaxy's Magellanic clouds. It has the same redshift as NGC 5907 and so is at the same distance of about 56 million light years and so might be close enough to be a satellite of the edge-on big spiral.
