Description

This object is about 4,200 to 5,500 light-years away from earth. The misty interstellar dust clouds around the kitty's paw consist of small molecules called "polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons", which happens to be in the smoke we see and smell when lighting up a match (Interesting how our daily objects share traits with something this majestic). In a few billion years, those gas and dust would collapse to form new stars and shine upon the nebula.
This image was pulled from a mix of remotely collected data with observatories in Australia and Chile. I would definitely return to this object with my equipment once we get out of the lockdown in Sydney.
