Description

This is my first attempt at Jupiter with the 24". Skies were partially cloudy with "average" seeing, maybe 5/10.

Processing is...

1. 2x Televue Barlow with ASI6200. The fastest this camera can do in fast mode is 29 fps @ 600 x 600, 8-bit. This is a major problem as 50 -100 fps would be much better.
2. Astronomik ProPlanet 742 IR-pass filter, 10 x 60s, 20ms, 340 gain, 29 fps.
3. Astrodon Gen2 E-Series Tru-Balance Blue, 8 x 60s, 20ms, 260 gain, 29 fps.
4. AutoStakkert 18 SER files, best 10%.
5. RegiStax 18 files, Wavelet Layer 2 @ 60.
6. Derotate IR and B and create synthetic G in WinJUPOS.
7. Derotate R/G/B in WinJUPOS.
8. Very mild sharpen in Topaz Sharpen AI.
9. Delete one blurred moon using Photoshop cloning tools.
10. Color balance and curve down highlights.

I now understand how it could take months or even years to get a great shot of Jupiter. (-:
