Description

Beautiful Iris Nebula is located in the constellation Cepheus, about 1,300 light years from earth. It is a reflection nebula, which means that it does not emit light on its own, but rather reflects light emitted from the hot central star into clouds of tiny particles, resulting in the blue color. It is surrounded by dark nebula, giving the appearance of being embedded in amber.
