Description

Let's talk science.

IC 1848 is a hollow cavity within the Soul Nebula. It is a region of star formation with numerous pillars with star birth at the tips. These pillars are similar to the famous "Pillars of Creation" in M16. Dark dust can also be seen surrounding the cavity.

Starnet was used to process the nebula by itself. The stars were then added back in. Finally Ha was applied as a luminance layer to the stack.
