Description

On my way to London over the skies of Namibia, I realised I had a window seat facing west at night. Above the clouds my view was unobstructed. I had to deal with two other major issues though; the lights within the plane cabin and the moving plane itself.

The lights I dealt with by forming a “scarf” around the lens that covered the half closed window. The moving plane was out of my hands, literally. So I just hoped for a steady flight.

I could not get a completely stable picture but what I had was better than I expected.

Edit: The dot at horizon is Venus with Jupiter just above it. There’s Saturn higher above Jupiter slightly right of center. I remember checking sky safari and it mentioned Pluto as well but it is very faint to pick out from the stars.
