Description

Galaxy M106, located in the Canes Venatici constellation (under the handle of the Big Dipper) and about 23 million light years away.

This galaxy has a water vapor megamaser (think laser, but operating in microwave frequencies instead of visible light).

The galaxy's supermassive black hole is currently causing the galaxy's active nucleus and classifies it as a Type 2 Seyfert galaxy.
