For some reason, this target is one I always seem to come back to. It's not even a favorite, I just always find myself never happy with my processing of it. I think at this point, it holds the record out of all the targets for one I have edited the most at around 15 completely different edits. The next closest would be the Horsehead and Flame, which sits at 12.
Of course, this is what I believe to be my best rendition yet. Normally I always either like the dust, or I like the galaxies, or the colors. Never had I enjoyed more than 2 in a single image. But I think that has finally accomplished just that. Being able to use data across multiple scopes, I have the sharpness from higher focal lengths, the very low noise dust due to the integration time, and the colors I spent ages tweaking.
This really is a combination of all I have learned over the past year or so. Hope it shows in what I believe to my best rendition of this galactic duo yet. The one bummer is I tried to get this finished last night for the RGO competition but didn't actually settle on this until this morning. While the submitted one isn't bad, I like this version a lot more.
