Messier 51 also called The Whirlpool Galaxy (NGC 5194) is an interacting spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It was the first to be classified as a spiral galaxy. It is estimated to be 23 ± 4 million light-years from us.

HD 117815 is an A5 pulsting variable star.

It is a composition of several images obtained with different instruments and dates. It includes data obtained with ED127mm refractor up to 580mm CDK20 reflector. The cameras also include CMOS and CCD from 3 to 16MP. The total exposure time is around 40 hours.
