Description

Hello all,

for me the owl cluster NGC 457 in Cassiopeia is one of the most beautiful star clusters, striking, small and noble are the attributes that come to mind.

So I dared to use 300 mm focal length on APS-C. I chose the image field so that the planetary nebula SH 2 188, also known as the Dolphin or Shrimp Nebula, is also in the field.

Taken on 1.11.2022 from the garden in Stade ( Bortle 5), moon at a good 50%, but fortunately not so high above the horizon. I started the session at 19:00, and it was easy to see from the subs how the sky had brightened for the first 2 hours.
Nevertheless, I threw all the subs into the stack.......
The total was 299 x 45" ( 3 h 44 m). Equipment: Canon EOS 550 Da, Canon L 300 mm @ f 4.5 at ISO 1600, all carried by my aged Staradventurer.

Processing: DSS, Fitswork, Canon DPP 4, irfanview
