My first (almost good) light with my CT8 and Monochrome camera. Fighting with strange problems during acquisition. Guiding is good but most lights show trailed stars in the second half of night or when really bad, from the beginning. Tried everything and now think it may lie with data exchange between setup and PC. More tests to come when clouds clear.

Acquisition was done between August 25th and September 2nd and only acceptable subs used. Most of the HA data unfortunately has egg shaped stars.

Monochrome processing is definitely another animal. Will need to experiment lots once I have better data.
This was stacked in APP and I processed the stacked Ha/OII/SII in Affinity Photo. Nebulosity was separated from stars in mono first. The stars from each bandwidth where combined in RGB and manipulated separately before blending them back in at the end. Not an image for pixel peeking...

I also reduced noise in an early stage of processing and used here the Ha stars only

Title: The Cygnus Wall - Part of NGC 7000 - Revisited

Description: Trying out new processing options. Here I used the colorized SHO technique to achieve this image. It's the first time in PixInsight I have used it although not the first time ever. I did play around with this same idea in Affinity Photo in the past. I think it is a very interesting approach in combining the channels and it has a lot of potential.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
