I have been trying to photograph this galaxy for several years now: first with my 11" f/10 EdgeHD, then with a x0.7 reducer added and now with Hyperstar (f/1.9, fl=530mm). My results with the x0.7 reducer are shown elsewhere on this site. These results, while an improvement over my prior attempts, are still below the level of my expectations. The detail is washed out toward the center of the galaxy and the colors don't seem to be right. However, this photo represents my current best effort. I will try again later this summer when Andromeda is high in the northern sky.
