Description

I just purchased ZWO narrowband Ha and Oiii 7nm filters! This is my first image using. (Astrodon has no idea when they will be making 36mm filters.) Actually this image is an LRGB + Ha combination. I needed an area rich in Ha for testing and came upon SH2-54 even though many challenges. It comes with the bonus of the small open cluster NGC6604. There are only a few images on Astrobin of these.

Challenges include full moon, rises at 1:40 AM at 24 degrees, hits my tree at 4:15AM at 29 degrees and points directly to the San Fernando valley and LA light dome 20 miles away, lots of planes/satellites. Also, my first attempt at using true Ha data. Noise and gradients were big issues, but I had fun trying many different ways of combining and processing. All-in-all I am thrilled with the experience and liked the result enough to post.
