Description

This object is a galaxy group of three primary members located 230 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +19 degrees. The cluster is dominated by the influence of the huge elliptical on the left side (NGC 7550). The elliptical width in our apparent view is 3 arc-minutes which corresponds to a true width of 200,000 light years. Its gravitational impact on the 2 spiral galaxies to the right (NGC 7549) and below it (NGC 7547) are seen in the faint star streams which extend from each of these galaxies towards the elliptical, along with some deformation of the spiral arms of both galaxies.

The three small galaxies across the top of the image are not related to this group.
