Description

The waxing gibbous moon (93.8% illuminated) on February 25, 2021. I've been playing around with my white light solar rig (minus the Herschel wedge) for lunar imaging since the apparent diameters of our Sun and Moon are the same (which still strikes me as one amazing coincidence). Also using the narrowband solar continuum filter as I've seen some nice mono moon images through a narrowband Ha filter on astrobin.

Imaged with a Astro-Tech AT60ED, with and without 2.5x Televue Powermate, Baader Solar Continuum Filter 1¼" (540nm), and ZWO ASI290MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/6 (360mm FL) without the powermate and ~F/15 (FL=900mm) w/ the 2.5x powermate. Image capture using Firecapture. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 1000 frames). Processed in Registax (wavelet sharpening).
