Description

Monty, Josie and Sierra.

This is my roll-around cart that I'm using while I build an observatory. I use 3/4 inch bolts to level the cart. My guiding might not be as good with the cart, but setup and breakdown are sooo much easier than before. Josie and Sierra are my grand kids.

I level the cart with the bolts and an electric drill, do a polar alignment, star alignments and use TeamViewer to connect the laptop to my main computer in my house. I control all the software on the laptop from my main computer, copy all images from the laptop to the main computer and shut down everything on the laptop. Finally, I walk outside, raise the leveling bolts with a cordless drill and roll it into a metal building, cover it with a sheet and walk to my house.

My riding mower has a trailer hitch on the back. If I need to transport the cart very far I pull the cart with my mower(very gently). If there is no power, I have a 100 amp-hour deep cycle battery and an inverter that I place on the cart. There is an open field in front of my house that has a good view in most directions.

I'm thinking about buying a second EQ6-R Pro mount so I can have one in my observatory and one on my cart with a wider angle telescope. Unfortunately, they are on back order everywhere I look.
