Description

This object is a rarely imaged molecular cloud located 1000 light years away in the constellation of Sagittarius. It is 50 arc-minutes wide, corresponding to a span of 15 light years. Like most of these clouds, not much has been written about this object in the literature.

I find it strange that this object was included in the Sharpless catalog of emission areas since it looks like a cloud to me, but apparently these molecular clouds are considered hydrogen emission regions even though they are too faint to respond to HII filters. It still does not explain, though, why so few of these clouds are included in the Sharpless catalog. Seems a bit inconsistent to me.
