Description

Continuing my wide field imaging of the region around the Heart Nebula (IC1805). This image was captured using an 85 mm/F1.4 Rokinon camera lens and an STC Duo Narrowband clip filter. This is my first image using this filter, and I am super happy with the combination of this filter and the 85mm Rokinon lens. Given the intense light pollution from my home viewing location, the dual narrowband filters are turning out to be a fantastic tool for my astro imaging.

Imaged with 85mm/F1.4 Rokinon at F/2.8, STC Duo Narrowband Clip Filter, and full spectrum modified Nikon D5300.

Pre-processed using PixInsight Batch Pre-Processing (BPP) script. Images calibrated using darks, bias, and flats. Extracted red/green/blue channels using BatchChannelExtraction script. R, G, & B channels registered and stacked independently using StarAlighment and Integration. R channel data gives the Ha image. Averaged G & B channels using Pixelmath to generate OIII image. Total integration time of ~2.5 hours using 38 subs at ISO200x240 sec. R and Average of G+B channels individually post-processed in Pixinsight: Cropped, gradient removal with ABE, MLT for noise reduction, stretched using masked stretch, Curves Transformation, TGVDenoise for noise reduction, HDR transform, Local histogram transform, morphological transform to shrink stars.
