Description

Here is my first deep sky image with the 9.25 Edge! We had one clear night last week and despite the frigid temperatures (~-10deg C) I couldn’t let it pass without pulling out the Edge. I was only able to get just over an hour of data in each narrowband channel but even with this limited exposure time I’m pleased with the improvements I’m seeing vs. my 6 SE, definitely a noticeable improvement in resolution. This is also my first image having used off axis guiding. It takes some tinkering finding and focusing a star with the guide camera but overall I’ve been surprised at how successful it’s been which is a testament to the quality of the Skywatcher AZEQ6GT mount. I took around 50 five minute exposures at the native 2350mm focal length and only had to scrap 5 of them.
