Description

Almost 31 hours of data acquired over nine clear nights between November 6 - 20, this hydrogen and oxygen rich emission nebula really shines through with strapping hues of swirling red and orange. Even through my light polluted skies, which damage the background data and command a strong hand of noise reduction, I can really appreciate the cosmic beauty of this emission nebula 1800 light years away that spans about 2.5 degrees of our sky in the constellation Perseus. The bright blue star by its belly is Menkib, which is actually closer to us at 1200 light years. I was going to wait and add RGB data to swap out the narrowband stars, but I thought it looked good enough to share. Skies here in NY not as easy to work with as back home in Cyprus, but where there's a will, there's a way! Thanks for looking and hope you like it
