Description

OK I'm back in business! The Gods have been unusually kind for a UK bank holiday and gave us 3 decent nightime forecasts in a row with minimal moon interference - enough to do a decent narrow-band even with shorter-then-ideal nights. The Pelican is close to zenith at the meridian so it would be daft to go for anything else. As it happens the data from the last night was so good that I dumped all but a handful of the frames from the first night when processing #firstworldproblems!

This image has just over 9 hours of data - it could have been close to 14 but decided to trade off the signal-to-noise for a sharper image.

The metal prints looked amazing so I'm going for a similar treatment with this one - it's interesting how different the colours look on my laptop versus the desktop monitor it was created on though....

After a modified SHO combination in APP the post-processing in PSPro was pretty minimal. I'm not sure I can eliminate the halo from the Oiii without changing to another set of filters at great expense ... I may see if I can minimise them with another shot at processing....
