Description

Here’s my latest capture of the Pelican Nebula (IC 5070), taken from my garden in Belgium. Captured with my C11 Edge HD equipped with the Hyperstar V4 and an Optolong L-eXtreme filter, I used a ZWO ASI071 MC Pro color camera, taking 50 exposures of 300 seconds each (half of the shots ended up in the bin due to clouds). I also included 50 darks, 50 flats, and 50 bias frames.

The setup included a guide scope with a 240 mm focal length and a ZWO ASI 120 MM-S Mono guiding camera, all controlled by the ASIAir Plus. Stacking was done in Siril, extracting the HA and O3 channels with star separation using Starnet++.

Final color adjustments were made in Lightroom, with a finishing touch of noise reduction using Topaz Photo AI Denoise. To further refine the image, I used Photoshop to reintroduce the stars and reduce the brightness for a more balanced finish.

There’s still a bit of tilt, but adjusting the Hyperstar remains quite a challenge!
