Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is located 300 million light years away in the constellation of Pegasus at a declination of +9 degrees.  It is a magnitude 14 galaxy which spans 1 arc-minute in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a width of 100,000 light years.

This appears to be 2 merging galaxies.  I classified it into the M4 merging galaxy category, which is defined as a merger object has one coalesced core and multiple tails.  This object looks somewhat similar to NGC 6240.

Many other distant galaxies are visible in the background.
