Description

Are we sure Chang'e-5 crash landed? An LRGB composite that did not quite work, but I quite liked the result, which I imagine looks rather like an enormous open-cast mine. God forbid that we start digging up the moon, let alone any more of our own planet, or even near earth asteroids, to mine precious metals...but, I suppose technology depends on them.

This is an LRGB composite, mouse-over for the original luminance stack of this Day 7 moon. I expect the colour fringing, and slight loss of focus is due to shooting this through my 0.33 focal reducer. Captured in Envisage with a 50% image quality setting and low edge enhance filter applied to RGB frames.

Description: The luminance frame. 50 x 0.0010s subs, stacked in Envisage at 50% quality with a medium edge enhance filter applied after 10 images. Taken at f3 in my 8" SCT. Mouse-over for a pointless inverted view.
