Description

This is a very odd planetary nebula. It appears to be mostly emitting green OIII light. Some say its small, but its actually about 80 arc second across, so not dissimilar in size to M57. There aren't many images of it out there. Its all one color, with a very bright saturated central bar structure that is difficult to color correct.

The moon was nearly full, so I experimented with capturing this using a UHC filter that passes OII and H-beta lines along with the red H-alpha line and longer wavelengths up to near-IR. The filter worked reasonably well. The star colors were not well captured with this filter, so I mostly let the stars go to white.

Each of the 8 eight minute images were composed of 320 1.5 second exposures live-stacked in SharpCap.
