Description

Eastern and Western Veil complex of supernova remnants in Cygnus. NGC 6960, 6992, et al. It lies about 1900 light years distant, and it precursor star exploded between 5000 and 8000 years ago.

Re-visited this area as a test target for my new Tak Baby Q, still learning how to take advantage of its capabilities. I am really pleased with results here, even though it is minimal integration (~11 hours total, 5+ per panel). I decided to publish what I have due to full moon and cloudy nights ahead. I may add more data later...

This is a two panel mosaic. I tried the MosaicByCoordinates script in PI, but was not pleased with results (lots of artifacts and "double exposure" stars at edges), so went back to using multi-pass StarAlignment to get panels registered for GradientMergeMosaic. It left a couple small artifacts that I was able to touch up.
