Description

Abell 72 (PK 059+18.1) is a faint planetary nebula in the constellation Delphinus.
The beautiful object of George O.Abell's Catalog of Planetary Nebula is 5700 ± 1150 light years from earth and about 2 light years across.
The magnitude is quoted as 13.8m, but the light is spread out over an area about 2 arc minutes across.
The tiny galaxy to its south is named MCG+02-53-005 (PGC 65491) and to the right from the nebula we can see a PGC1434890 galaxy.
