Description

What a disappointment! While waiting for the short hours of darkness we experience at this time of year, I decided to image my favourite double star, Albireo (beta 1 Cyg), and beta 2 Cyg which have such wonderful colours in the eyepiece - gold and sapphire blue respectively. My 15s exposures were too much, and the halo surrounding the stars prevented me from drawing out any colour.

I’m posting this as a reminder to myself, to try again with much shorter exposures, perhaps layering these into the deeper starfield.

Description: Here's the best I can do with my LRGB data - Albireo is over-exposed, although I am quite happy with the overall starfield. I have added gentle star spikes to accentuate the lovely colours in this famous double star.
