Description

After some years, I have decided to try RGB imaging again. This is my first of these renewed attempts. I did a lot of RGB video captures and then selected the best for further work on the basis of the quality of the sharpened R images.

It seems to me that there is a streak of cloud over Lunae Planum (NE), and possibly patches of cloud over the Tharsis region in the centre. Try as I might, I could not successfully adjust the S Pole to white, so it may be that the clouds over the Pole are indeed blue, an occasional result of diffraction through water vapour.

In this and my last Mars image, the ring effect on the sunward side following sharpening is becoming pronounced and processing it out is difficult.
