Description

Iris Nebula (NGC 7023 or Caldwell 4) is a bright reflection nebula in Cepheus. It is illuminated by a 7th magnitude star and has a radius of about 3 light years. At a distance of about 1300 light years, this reflection nebula is surrounded by interstellar dust. This is first light for my recently completed roll-off roof observatory. There was a thin fog over the sky when subs were acquired. Taken with a modified canon t3i (600d), I wish there wasn't so much noise to deal with.
