Description

This object is a rarely imaged spiral galaxy in located 50 million light years away in the constellation of Draco at a declination of +70 degrees. The galaxy width is 4 arc-minutes in our apparent view, which corresponds to a diameter of about 50,000 light years.

I like its strange dust lane, which seems to surround the right side of the core with a sem-circular arc. I have never seen a dust lane like this before. The yellowish core is subdued and the galaxy structure is not well defined.

Numerous tiny galaxies are visible in the background.
