Description

After a long drought due to lousy weather and debugging some new gear, I captured this using my William Optics GT81 telescope with fancy new, low noise ASI2600MM camera and Chroma S, H, and O filters. Over 10 hours of total integration time. The “brain” contains significant levels of H-alpha (red) and OIII (blue). It appears to be floating in a sea of H-alpha which permeates this region of Cygnus. The data was so clean it required minimal processing – minimal noise reduction (just Mure Denoise on the stacked images) and no fancy neural net star removal techniques. Just a brain in space.
