Description

This is a test to see how good the Signal/Noise can be using dithered 90s subs on my new Aluma AC4040 camera and using an SBIG AO-X. Using the Pixinsight Signal to noise routine to quantify the images, I first stacked the RGB Subs (30,40,36 frames) using WBPP with weighting set on Cluster. I then drizzle integrated each color master. A Synthetic Luminance was formed by integrating the R,G,B drizzled masters with noise weighting, no rejection. The Synthetic Luminance was then deconvoluted, and then MLT linear noise reduction was applied. Here are the results.

WBPP Automatically picked 90s Reference Frame SNR: 3290

Synthetic Luminance Frame SNR: 25320

After Deconvolution SNR: 40910

After MLT Linear Noise Reduction with Linear Mask SNR: 95890

OK, the camera can produce details at short exposure for broadband frames.
