The Pelican Nebula
"The Phoenix and the Pelican" Refers to two portraits of Elizabeth I (1533-1603), painted when the queen was in her early forties, almost half way through her reign. They show the queen wearing remarkable pendants at her breast: one depicting a phoenix and the other a pelican.
I have adapted the title to mark the rise of my TS Optics set up from the virtual ashes that it was in after returning from our recent trip to Devon
Basically the dang thing would no longer connect to EQMod ... and after much faffing about with connections i decided it must be a driver problem.
For some reason I thought it would be a good idea rather to reinstall the driver, i would turn the laptop back to a previous update when everything was working. Of course this didnt work, laptop crashed and of course i couldn't recover it cause i dint have the password cause i always used finger print recognition or the PIN.
So of course i had to do a full factory reset and reinstall all the astro software and then remember or re work out all the settings which took ages and ages
Luckily the only data i had on the laptop was one full night of Ha data on the Pelican
So started from scratch and have accumulated 13 hrs of usable data some what weighted to the Ha
Ha 72 x 300s = 6hrs
Sii 45 x 300 = 3 hrs 45
Oiii 39 x 300 = 3 hrs 15
Total 13 hrs
The only other thing to report was having to re do darks library as a load of new hot pixels have appeared
Data taken over five nights in the last two weeks of good weather , ending 20th July
