Description

First light with this setup. I mainly got this for travel, and everything above the mount fits nicely into a carry-on Pelican Air 1535. Now, when I will actually take it on a flight, no idea

The mount performed well with one limitation. I was unaware the mount stops tracking when a target hits meridian and made a few changes in the meridian flip settings, so the mount pauses for 10 minutes before and after the target crosses the meridian. It has been working well since then. I see online that there is a fix being worked on, so I am hopeful this is only temporary. The last two nights I did not even polar align after I brought the rig from the patio, just pointed it roughly to Polaris and let it run and it guided pretty good actually.

I also had to crop the right side of the image as there was a huge star on the lower right corner (or mars?) that started to show on the subs from the second night. I attempted this region with my 106 for a night and decided to revisit next time because of Mars blowing up the field.

Hope you like this result. Clear skies!
