Last night was likely the last chance I would get to view and photograph the 2020 great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. I had about 5 different setups in various states of readiness, and was chaotically jumping between them. At one point I realized that if I changed my vantage point, I could frame Jupiter and Saturn with this ornate cross on top of a church steeple. The cross itself looks star-like to me, which hopefully adds to the meaning here. I took about 200 photos of this constantly moving through the snow until the light from the setting sun lit up the steeple just right to get the effect AND I had the planets positioned just so behind the cross. While I shot the conjunction with many other setups, including at much higher magnification, I think this will be my favorite photo I took of the event. Hope everyone else gets to see it!
