Description

Valentine Rose - SH2-174: located at high declination in the constellation Cepheus the King - about 980 light years distant.
An ancient asymmetric planetary nebula. The white dwarf associated with this nebula is the white star at the edge of the blue just right of centre.
Our sun will share this fate in 6 million years.

I have it on good authority that this image also looks like the centre of a large marble - so it could also be called be the Marble Middle Planetary Nebula.
