Description

This is another old work forgotten in my archives.
The Heart Nebula (or IC1805) is an emission nebula 7500 light years away from Earth. It’s located in the Perseus arm of the Milky Way and it’s visible in the constellation Cassiopeia.
In this image, I used narrowband filters for the gas (in the Hubble palette) and RGB filters for the stars.
IC1805 is a wide HII region that covers an area approximately 16 times the full Moon.
The presence of hot stars in its core is the reason for its particular shape.
