Description

Attempted to do full disk imaging of the sun. Ideally this will be so much better with a double stacked Lunt, Like a LS60 or LS80 double stack which can have a bandpass of sub 0.5A. However I only have the Quark Chromosphere which is optimized for higher focal length scopes (Requires the light cone to be parallel) to produce good contrast.

The image train I tried is a Orion 80mm ST (Short tube F5 focal ratio) + 0.5x reducer to the Quark and finally to ASI174MM camera. This is not an optimal setup for the quark. I ended up putting an aperture mask to push the focal ratio higher. This scope also has no automated focuser making focusing harder

Here is the final result. I could see faint chrominances and some surface structure is visible.
