Description

Trying something a bit different. I figured the OIII passband in the L-Enhance filter would be sufficiently wide to let in enough light to still show the reflection part of the nebula, while also getting some detail in the surrounding h-alpha clouds. I think it turned out pretty nice, though the colors are a lot wackier than I expected.

Stacking a whole bunch of short exposures seemed to have worked here. I couldn't expose for much longer or I'd blow out the center of the nebula, even with the narrow(ish) passband of the filter.

The original, untweaked image was the greenest DSO image I have ever seen. Not sure why.

There's also some odd vertical banding in the image. I'm not sure if it's walking noise, which I have never seen in images using this camera before. It might have something to do with the scope being accidentally rotated in the mount during the meridian flip.

Description: Restacked with new bias and flats that now match the color balance/offset settings for the light frames. Colors looks slightly more plausible, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be a huge difference.
