Description

So many galaxies, with NGC 5054, 5044, 5037, 5035, 5046, 5047, 5049 ...
South of Virgo, we can find many galaxies. More than 100 can be listed on the annotated version, but you can find more by browsing the full. They all belong to the Virgo Cluster, a massive collection of more than 2,000 galaxies.
The main ones are here:
NGC 5054: Spiral galaxy in Virgo and classified spiral (SAbc). Located at 79 million AI, its brightness class is II-III with HI wideband.
NGC 5044: NGC 5044 is an elliptical galaxy located about 127 million light-years from the Milky Way. NGC 5044 is a LINER galaxy, that is, a galaxy whose core has an emission spectrum characterized by large lines of weakly ionized atoms.
NGC 5037: NGC 5037 is a faint spiral galaxy that is part of the 5044 galaxy group. The galaxy is located 91 million light-years away. NGC 5037 hosts an active galactic nucleus (AGN) heavily obscured by dust.NGC 5037: NGC 5037 is a faint spiral galaxy that is part of the 5044 galaxy group. The galaxy is located 91 million light-years away. NGC 5037 hosts an active galactic nucleus (AGN) heavily obscured by dust.NGC 5035: This is a barred spiral galaxy of type Sba D located about 99 million light-years away.
NGC 5046: Small elliptical galaxy located in the constellation Virgo about 101 million light-years
GC 5047: NGC 5047 is a lenticular galaxy seen from the edge and located about 86 million light-years away. NGC 5047 has a wide HI line
NGC 5049: NGC 5049 is a lenticular galaxy seen from the edge and about 138 million light-years away. NGC 5049 is a bright galaxy in the X-ray range and is part of the NGC 5044 group.
