Description

Massive clouds of gas and dust in the constellation Cassiopeia are illuminated by a large and very bright Be star, Gamma Cassiopeiae, to create this eerie visual of a ghost gently rising to the heavens. The image captures Gamma Cassiopeiae (bright blue star on top right) as well as it's 2 surrounding nebula, IC 59 (wall on left) and IC 63 (the ghost). The image was captured over several nights using both narrowband and RGB data. Luminance is primary driven by the strong Ha emission in the nebula.
