Description

Nearby the prominent open cluster NGC 7789 found in 1783 by Caroline Herschel is interesting variable star from the Mira class: WY Cassiopeia. Mira stars are long term variable stars with extreme change in brightness due to complex chemical reactions in their atmosphere. In case oy WY Cassiopiea ranging from 16 up to 7.5 mag over a period of more than a year. So each image NGC 7789 shows a different brightness, typically.

I took two images of NGC 7789 at February and November this year. The brightness maximum of WY was estimated for the April, but i missed it.
The two images were overlayed and processed to an anmiated gif. The blinking star below NGC 7789 is WY Cassiopeia changing is brightness from around  estimated 10 mag at the 24th of February and around estimated 14 mag at the 10th of November.
