Description

The Heart Nebula (IC 1805) is an emission nebula in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy 7500 light years from Earth. The intense red is due to radiation emanating from a small group of stars near the nebula's center. Hanging off of lower right is the, um, Fish Head nebula, named because it looks like a fish's head.
