Description

This is a try to generate an artificial 3D view of Mars.

I took the two frames from my animation which show two different angles of view (due to the rotation of Mars).

When you apply a cross-eyed view on this image - the right eye views to the left Mars, the left eye views to the right Mars - you get a three dimensional impression of the planet.

Although the resolution and the general image quality is not good at all, you get a kind of 3D effect.

There are animations of the Mars rotation with much better image quality. So, I encourage everybody who has Mars (or Jupiter) animations to try this technique.

Important: the rotation axis must be vertical and the left image must show the surface details a little bit shifted to the left (temporal frame separation between several minutes and ~ 45 minutes - otherwise it will not work.
