Description

Western Vail Nebula.

This Image was acquired ay my personal observatory in Lancaster South Carolina during July and August of 2020.

The Vail Nebula is a supernova remnant that is a part of the Cygnus Loop and is made up of ionized gas and dust.. The supernova occurred between 10,000 and 20,000 years ago and is about 2400 light-years distant.
