Description

The star formation area around the Lagoon nebula (Messier 8) is one of the most colorful of our Milky Way. In addition to the Trifid nebula (Messier 20; blue-red), there are also many star clusters, e.g. Messier 21. I am very happy about the visibility of IC4685, a hydrogen nebula with subtile OIII flanks next to the lagoon nebula. I supported the fine hydrogen structures with an H-Alpha narrowband image. The objects are surrounded by the innumerable stars and interstellar dust of our Milky Way, which glows yellowish. All objects can be found in the Sagittarius constellation near the galactic center.
