Description

Only recently returning to astroimaging after a 10 year or so hiatus, I figured I would try an old favorite of mine, NGC 7000 and friends. This is my first ever narrowband composition, so it was only natural to go a bit overboard with the saturation. I must have stopped and saved the image a dozen times or so...you know what I am talking about, right? That giddy feeling one gets when colors even remotely resembling HST data first pops up on screen in your very own image. This was also the first image taken with my Stellarvue SV70T and its FF/reducer. I am still playing with the critical spacing between camera/OAG/reducer, but I am feeling positive about these results and looking forward to falling deeply infatuated with astroimaging once again :-) Be sure to hit the Link to TIFF/FITS for a detailed explanation of what is actually occurring in this image. Enjoy the pic everyone, and stay safe.
